This Tuesday evening from 6:30-7:30pm, parents are invited to attend the “iPad for Parents Night” in the WMS Cafeteria to learn more about the ins & outs of google classroom, good email guidelines for your student, and the like. This is a wonderful opportunity to ask questions and gain an in-depth understanding of how your students use technology at WMS. Please see below for more information. We hope to see you there!

Safety Training will take place for all students and staff on Wednesday from approximately 9-9:30 a.m. For the training, students will meet in Advisory. Teachers will facilitate the training which is focused on what to do in the case of an active intruder. The training time will include: 1) a short, age-appropriate video on the ALICE protocols, 2) practicing a classroom lockdown and physical evacuation from the building (as directed by the principal and supported by the Wellesley Police Department), and 3) a Q&A debrief back in Advisory.

There will be administrators, counselors and supportive staff onsite, to help with any needs that might arise.

The training has been built into the schedule for the Early Release Day. WMS has asked that all parents and guardians refrain from conducting business in the building at this time. WMS kindly asks that no dismissals be planned (including pickups or drop-offs for out-of-school appointments) on Wednesday during this time.

Early Release is at 11:21am. Students can wear Red & Black (or their Raiders Gear) to celebrate the First Half Day of the year if they choose. Let's celebrate and show some WMS School Spirit on Wednesday!

It’s coming up! Please check your child’s backpack for the Coffee Pond order form coming home soon, as well as the Yearbook Order Form. Teachers Jacqui Martell and Sarah Steinberg really appreciate the early bird yearbook orders if you’re able! 

Go to Coffee Pond and click "Order Online" and select "School Portraits", then enter Wellesley, MA and WMS to order without the form.  

The annual WMS Halloween Dance will be on Friday evening, October 27th for all grades 6th, 7th & 8th! 300 students are expected and they will be split into two groups for safety reasons. 6th Graders will be in the cafeteria, while 7th & 8th graders will use Gym A. If you would like to volunteer for an hour to pass out water and snacks please email wmsptoinfo@gmail.com. 

Please bring the family and join us in the Kingsbury Courtyard to care for the pollinator garden in front of WMS. Stop by anytime from 8:00-10:00am to give back to the community by helping our town gardener extraordinaire, Susy Jordan, do some edging and weeding of the beds.

We’ll also divide and transplant some of the plants around the brand new WMS sign. Come and get a closer look of our latest PTO project that has been 2 years in the making!

Join us for a special evening All Parent PTO meeting in Boston with the WHS PTSO and Stephanie Holland, our new K-12 METCO Director. We have reserved the Shelburne Community Center, 2730 Washington Street, Roxbury 02119. Agenda coming soon!  

On Monday, 10/16 from 7:00-8:00pm the PTO will be hosting a zoom call with Dr. Ito and all of the WMS Department Heads to provide departmental updates and discuss the strategic vision for WMS. This is the first of four all parent PTO meetings this year. 

Is there anything specific you would like us to cover? Future Building Improvements? Curriculum Updates? Something simple such as explaining how kids are seated in the cafeteria at the beginning of the year?
